1-2008 UBP Knife![]()
The 2008 UBP knife represents the sixth in a series of one-of-a-kind knives. Each knife to date has been embellished with scrimshaw work by Ed Wentzler of Lost Arts Trade Company, and the UBP’s own legislative director. The artwork on the last three editions of the knife have matched that of the coinciding year’s representation on the UBP Commemorative Patch, and this year’s knife indicates the continuation of that theme.
Knife maker Todd Grimm of Grimm’s Custom Cuttlery, Milesburg, PA is a UBP member and has donated several knives to us in the past for use as auction and raffle items, and he has donated the knife that is the basis for this year’s commemorative. It features a 5 ½ -inch blade of D-2 steel at 60 Rc hardness which has decorative hand filing (jimping) on the spine of the blade. The guard is 303 brass, the handle is ivory micarta with spacers, and the knife is 10–inches in overall length and comes with an embossed sheath of 9-ounce leather.
